PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA JOINS RAPHAEL TUJU'S FAMILY IN MOURNING

President Uhuru Kenyatta Friday joined the family, relatives and friends of Mzee Henry Wilson Odiyo Tuju for a funeral service at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.
The Senior Tuju, father of former Foreign Affairs Minister Raphael Tuju, died last Saturday at Karen Hospital.
In his tribute, President Kenyatta eulogized the Mzee Tuju as a patriarch of rare qualities, who instilled discipline and understanding on his family to appreciate one another as brothers and sisters.
“Mzee Tuju was a man of good character who raised his family with the understanding that they are Kenyans,” said the president. “He epitomized the ability to accept people of different cultures, ethnic and religious backgrounds by embracing them as part of his family,” he added.
The President urged Kenyans to emulate Mzee Tuju by embracing one another as brothers and sisters to keep the country united as one family.
President Kenyatta assured the Tuju family of continued Government support.
“As Government, we stand with you at this difficult moment and ready to lend any support,” he added.
Mzee Tuju is survived by two widows Mama Mary and Mama Risper Tuju, many children and grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest at his Rarieda home in Siaya County.
