President Uhuru emphasized on the importance of peace and spoke against negative politics as portrayed in the recent exchanges between ODM and Jubilee Political parties.
The Opposition has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing
him of avoiding in his Mashujaa Day speech what it called critical
issues currently affecting the country.
Cord MPs
faulted the President for sidestepping the teacher’s pay crisis and the
state of the economy amid fears of a cash crunch and corruption in the
National Youth Service.
They also criticised the Head of State’s remarks on the ICC’s directive on Jubilee prayer rallies.
Ugunja
MP Opiyo Wandayi said the President should have used the opportunity to
provide leadership by putting a stop to the rallies.
“On
national cohesion and integration, he has missed a golden opportunity
to provide leadership by putting a stop to the divisive so-called prayer
meetings currently being spearheaded by his cronies,” the MP said.
